Gabriela Gonzalez / Multidisciplinary Artist (Chile) / @gabrielaisabel

Born in Chile, she has completed a Bachelor degree with Honours in Fine Arts (2007), a Certificate IV in Photo-Imaging (2011) and a Diploma in Sound Production (2020)
Between 2012 and 2015 she co-developed the collective "Cooking the Continent", which took her on a 8-month journey through South America, researching and documenting local culture through food. The resulting 13-episode series has been broadcasted in TV stations in Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Colombia, The Philippines, Russia, Portugal, Mozambique, Brazil among others. The series is also available on Amazon and Amazon Prime in the US. 
In 2019 she took an embroidery workshop with the renowned artist Valeria Faundez in Chile, where she connected deeply with this media and how crucial it has been for political resistance, sorority and resilience between groups of women. She’s passionate about thinking, listening and learning about intersectional feminism, reflecting her most recent stitch art on domestic violence, gender inequality, fatphobia and patriarchy.
She has worked in many artistic projects and with cultural organisations like Multicultural Arts Victoria, Creative Victoria, Victoria Together, The Boite, Footscray Community Arts Centre, Banksia Gardens, Moreland Community Houses, 3CR Community Radio, Blak Dot Gallery and many more. These collaborations are in multiple areas like documentary, video production, photography, visual arts, poetry, performance, live visuals, animation, music and broadcasting.
