Video produced by Cooking the Continent
CONAMURI (National Coordinator of Rural Indigenous Working Women Organizations) is an independent organism that since 1999 has been taking care of the welfare of the indigenous working women in Paraguay. Among its activities, they have a strong concern about sovereignty and autonomy of food preservation. CONAMURI, through the voice of its members, expresses its ideas and thoughts on this specific subject. Everything happens within a specific activity: cooking local dishes with own vegetables and meat production and then sell them at a market in the city.
Our goal is to show how this successful example solves a polemic subject today. How to understand and act, in a local scale, about our survival based on food, in a conscious and healthy way, that is also sustainable in time.
This movie wants to strengthen the great work that this organization is doing, and enhance the Paraguayan nation lucidity regarding food sovereignty.
